I've been using a homepage for a while now. It took some time to figure out what I actually wanted to have on it and what was even useful. This is not the exact links I am using, its just an example, I have less links on my current page.
I did a lot of pointlessly complex things with my first few iterations on a homepage, things like search fields or weather displays, ultimately I am happy with my current solution witch is just a link to a "weather" search on duckduckgo, it works just fine and I don't need the weather information every time I open a new tab, time and date has been very nice though, that's the only dynamic content I have right now.
Its had a positive effect on my internet habits as well, removing pages from the links will mean I don't go to those places as often, or on reflex just because they are there, so that has been good.
