Good news, the credits to DBGT actually have two side-by-side shots for that scene, so I was able to splice them together to create a wider image.The bad new(s) is that even the "best quality" copies available are still just 480p DVD rips, so even two frames stuck together won't fill up a 1080p display.
Comments online seemed to indicate the celluloid grain was a desired trait of the animation, so I just used a simple enlargement with no noise removal to blow it up to size. For a 1080p wallpaper, it required cropping about 600px off one end or the other. I think this one turned out best, but I've also uploaded a crop from the other side, as well as the original spliced-together frames in case you want to try yourself, or anyone else wants to give it a go.
