The new testament is an extension of greek mythology. One, this is obvious in the entomology, Zeus, Deus, Jesus (try looking up old pronunciations) Two, the New Testament was written in Greek and incorporated Greek thinking and writing. Read Acts.
Then Christianity spread throughout the small disparate pockets of Europe because it had the might of the Roman Empire - which became the Holy Roman Empire - behind it, (Dark Ages are a myth, just look it up)
Had the position been reversed and the Norse had control of a large expanding empire, we would be seeing a lot more Norse churches around the world. P.S. the Decline and Fall is a shitty book and you wasted your time in reading it.
