Currently on the RasPi screwing around. Running PiBang and still basically vanilla since I'm pretty new to Linux. Isn't there some way to make the Openbox toolbar look like BBlean's? Google failed me.

Guys I've been trying to install a visual style, and every time I copy the theme files into my windows theme directory.. I double click them to install and this window comes up.

I patched my system and restarted, what seems to be the problem?

tint2 is easy to customize, but there are other ways to get that look too.

If you want exactly he same look you could replace Openbox with fluxbox. But fluxbox themes are all pretty ugly...

Or you could replace tint2 with some other panel. here is a nice little list https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Lightweight_Applications#Taskbars

bmpanel is nice and you can find good looking configs for it from here http://dotshare.it/category/panels/bmpanel/

have you tried with another with another theme? that never happened to me. try repatching windows (use universal theme patcher) and aplying a different theme. if the problem persists, it's either something related to aero or a recent update you installed.

It happened with a different theme before this and I just assumed it was a theme.

I haven't installed a windows update since I got this laptop in August- updates won't install correctly and I haven't been able to find a solution to it.

Alright, so I loaded up #! onto my laptop using a 16GB thumb drive as the hard drive to see if I could make a portable CrunchDrive that I could boot into from any computer. Works flawlessly. Also, I started figuring out what does what in tint2rc so I kind of have it looking like I want. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone know how to reduce the font size for screenfetch? My GPU name wraps into the next line, disrupting the #! logo unless I stretch the window to almost the entire width of the screen and then shrink it to a manageable size like I've done with the screenshot.

I need some help here. I'm using this Elegance player skin, and I put it near the corner of the screen. It looks nice but every time the song changes, either it moves away from the corner (like in the second screenshot) or half the title of the song doesn't show. I can't recall precisely, but I think if you right click around the search-box there is an option in the splitter settings.

I never needed the search box there, Ctrl+F works too. I ended up moving my playlist up to cover up the space that was taken by the searchbox. You might be able to find the option to change the colors in the same area as before.

As far as your album art covering everything you probably opened or closed a splitter. I'm not too knowledgeable about this. You likely have to right click and close the splitter or something along those lines. In the future make backups of your foobar folder before you start tweaking.

Unless anyone is lurking the thread right now it might just be faster to reinstall the .fcl. Make sure you make a backup of the folder though.
You can copy+paste your play-lists into the new playlist folder for convenience sake. Editing the colors doesn't take too long.

If you don't need the search bar and you want to remove it right click where the titles of the current played song appears then splitter setting. A window will appear with volume,seekbar, etc click on search then uncheck forced layout and in size put 0 instead of 100 (default value). Hope this help.

Yeah it was wishful thinking that the theme was .fcl dependant, just reinstall foobar and load the .fcl like you did when you first started. Just make sure you backup your playlists and it shouldn't be a problem.

For the lack of titlebars you use the GUI application settings editor on openbox and set them to not have a titlebar. And firefox I used deepdark theme for firefox combined with http://pastebin.com/aXxX3LE1 and midnight caek for 4chan and tweaked some of the configs on those.

It's not babby's first desktop, but it's what I'm comfortable with. The result of a couple hours with RainMeter on my new laptop. Aurora is usually expanded from the right to the sidebar, so it's nice having all my information visible while browsing at the same time. I also made the sidebar match the width of my WinAmp, for aesthetic reasons

Well to each his own. Also, do you know of a way to get a window to appear at a certain size when it opens? I see that I can set it to a certain xy position on the screen trough the app settings editor, but I'm not sure about sizing it. The only options are to maximize it or iconify it. Take for example if I wanted Terminator to open at 80x19 for screenfetch without any extra crap or to take up half of the screen just because.

I've been trying to set all this up today, and installed BBLean, Sombras theme and BB_Bar, but I genuinely can't get BB to look good. On top of this, I've been unable to get explorer looking right (both problems should be obvious in this printscreen.)

I manually changed it by editing the screenfetch file. You can do it by logging in as root and editing with Geany or another text editor or you can type sudo nano /usr/bin/screenfetch in your terminal, replacing /usr/bin if you have it elsewhere. Basically I just screwed around until I got it to work, because the ASCII logos are towards the bottom of the file and you have to edit them manually unless someone knows of another way.

I'm a scrub, and honestly don't care about what the desktop looks like. the Cpu usage widget may be worth adding, but I'm generally not concerned with it considering my 4 core 8 thread processor never peaks over 50% usage. My drives are almost always full-ish, so I don't really care about that portion either. Just nheed to make it work easy. and nothing I've seen really gets too much easier than just having Steam auto launch on boot. The only things I do are browse the webs and play games. Occasional 3d modeling for school, but thats the end of it. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for? I like the minimalist look.

And yeah sailing is a lot of fun, but you don't need no fucking boat, I've poor as fuck, we just put money together and rent a boat and a place to stay for 6 days, it was a lot of fun!

Got Terminator set to open without a titlebar and at a certain size and location finally. Also changed the Conky font back to normal as Terminus font on it looked weird, even if it did match a bit better. Lastly, I changed the clock font to Terminus as well since it stuck out like a sore thumb.

I've never been a big fan of drop shadow effects, so my suggestion is that you edit your compositing settings and turn them off. Shadow effects don't looks good with solid fill backgrounds.

Cygwin if you use Windows. "Pure" True Transparency, you'll need to somehow convert this if Linux. Build ncmpcpp in Cygwin, get weechat in Cygwin, and use cmdfetch or screenfetch. I'm using bbLean for the panel. I am using Tewi for the font, which has superior unicode support but some sub-standard features like raised underscores. I can post my configs if you want.

Cygwin Ports provides Weechat, and the Weechat website provides a much more up to date version. The regular Cygwin installer has urxvt, you'll have to build ncmpcpp yourself.

I'm using GNU/Linux with awesome as my window manager.

The windows on the left from top to bottom are: irssi (an IRC client), mpd with ncmpcpp as a frontend, just a bash shell I used to run scrot, htop (a monitoring program), and the last one is a pipes script.

The stuff on the top is all part of my rc.lua which is awesome's config file. The now playing and whatnot is all widgets that can be displayed through the rc.lua config file.

It's really not as complicated as it seems, and I'd be happy to share my config files with you.

In all seriousness though, the folders and recycle bin stick out a lot. Maybe consider a dock or some custom file/icon themes that match the rainmeter. Also the rainmeter could be a little less bloated but it looks ok for what it is. Might want to center the icons on your taskbar or even get rid of the taskbar completely.

Hopefully this is what you're looking for though. I didn't realise you had to export the settings, I thought the changes were saved in the flcl in the directory.
