How the fuck do I hide the tray icons? Connection icone, volume, arrow, show desktop? I have a program that should do it but it dont work.

Also, I need a clock skin that would work on any background, black, white, red, etc. Suggestions?

The default task bar and overall simplicity make me question if this is even worth sharing, but here you go.

Your VS seems to have sharp edges so it's probably just firefox. I use The Hide Caption Titlebar Plus addon. Might want to check that out.

Actually, looking more closely, it looks like all your windows have round edges (just the bottom corners. the top have sharp because you removed the titlebar). Makes me think it's more of a VS problem.

There are a bunch of solutions. I got around using a custom VS by just using classic. On nanami-tan there is a edited version of Appows Peek with straight edges (there are a few others in there as well). Or, you can always make your own VS.

I'm sick and im tired. The general consesus from /g/ I've gotten is that my destkop sucks.

yes, thats a problem for you, you say it blends with your wallpaper? it really doesnt, and takes up the entire top to bottom and HALF of the left screen, the way you have it set up, your third monitor is simply to hold rainmeter feeds! And since you care about not wasting space, I'm surprised you even keep that around

I use paint as my default bitmap editor. You may have to use another program to preserve the border transparency for your given style. Vista style builder will let you change your default editor.

Select the Top, Bottom, Right and Left bitmaps I highlighted here and then select edit. Simple really.

Other than that it isnt terrible at all, the only thing i could suggest is not using completely different skins for the system and the music player, like having a light/bright VS, and then having a darkasmysoul music player

Hey there desktop general, I've got a quick question. Back when I was new to ricing I followed a step-by-step video on how to install a theme and icons, along with stuff like folder icons, by adding new .dll files in the System32 folder. I no longer use the same icons, but occasionally the folder icons will revert back to the old ones (the silver ones) after being updated. Does anyone know what .dll to change to make sure they change back to normal? Thanks.

The archive the installers are in has a cleanup.bat if I'm not mistaken. That should fix your issue.

Did you use iconpackager? It's an alright program for changing icons/folders. You can even setup what live folders it uses. Which seems like the problem you're having.

read the sticky and decide what you want to do. Geektool and dragthing are main things I use tbh. Just down to what you want, I find I'm limited on my macbook by the size of the screen so it gets cluttered easily

Why are desktop threads always such a circle jerk on this board?

If you're using bright colors, I'd recommend a base color like or brighter than #e0e0e0. Anything darker doesn't work nearly as well.

I figure this is the best place to ask, how do you make the icons on the taskbar dissapear completely and just show the label? I see people with icons on their taskbar but they're only the labels, I was thinking maybe the changed the icon to a transparent square, possibly but surely there's an easier way than to go through all of your stuff and switch the icon individually.
