So I dunno about that. You can try replacing them and putting the original files back in if nothing bad happens. Just google around and you might find some info on it.

Yeah, you're supposed to replace them. But make sure you back up the original ones into a safe place in case something goes awry.
The artfiles only edit aesthetics. I don't know what the extras file does though.
They artfiles will make your windows look like my picture on default themes of applications. It'll also change your menu bar. It also changes the traffic lights, but the traffic lights don't move, so the last traffic light will not be a good indicator of where the + is. You also might have both traffic lights on at the same time, like in my picture.
