>>5791018There's a ricing guide out there somewhere but I don't have the link for it. I'm gonna assume you have android.
Basically there are four things you need to make your homescreen not suck:
1. A different launcher than what comes with your phone. The most popular is Nova Launcher so you should give that a try first, the paid version is worth if if you've got a few extra dollars. There are a bunch on the market but Nova is easiest and simplest to learn imo. A different launcher allows you to modify things like how many screens you can scroll through, get rid of the dock, hide the notification bar, change the appearance of your icons, get rid of that annoying permanent google search bar, etc etc. Once you get a new launcher you should spend time going through all the settings to familiarize yourself with them.
2. Widgets. UCCW and Zooper are the most popular; I prefer Zooper. There are a lot of premade widgets for things like: clocks, calendars, music, news, whatever. Take a moment and prioritize what you want instant access to on your homescreen and what you're ok with just keeping hidden in your app drawer. A lot of people have tend towards minimalism because it's clean and uncluttered but don't feel the need to join the circlejerk if you don't want to. It's your phone, do whatever.
3. A wallpaper. There are millions. Pick one that allows for readability for your widgets and isn't something tacky. The fewer colours, the easiest it will be for you to find matching icons and have a consistent theme going throughout your phone which makes it nicer.
