>>5830054Typically NX designated ships were the first of their class, not series number. So Excelsior wouldn't be NX number 2000, it would be likely the two-thousandth ship that Starfleet produced. It's kinda wonky with the Enterprise-era stuff though, with NX-01, but we can chalk that up to that one being the first warp-5 capable ship.
