Don't you agree that there will always be someone stronger than their neighbor, and he will be able to beat people to death to get what he wants, and other people will follow his orders to protect themselves from his strength, and he will keep on growing stronger and doing atrocities to those opposed to him?
I don't believe that the state as it is is the most optimal solution, but realistically it is better than complete anarchy, we have the whole history of the human race as an example of what happens when there are no immediate consequences for an action.
Which doesn't justify survailance, borderline slave work, invasion of other countries, and many other atrocities, i agree with you completely and that is why i don't believe our current government system is not the most optimal possible. It's bad, but it prevents worse.
