Granted, main characters roll way too many criticals, lol, but one can still see the similarities of how anything, not just fantasy, can play out like D&D. Amines are the easiest. One session of D&D is like one episode and rarely does a group member die.
Action, adventure, horror, betrayal, crazy shit happening. All part of the games that I normally play, so it's easy for me to play it out in my head.
The stuff OP wants did sound fantasy-ish, but anything could be D&D related.
