The joke, of course, is supposing that the crusades were instigated by Muslims, and that those ridiculous snapshots of perfect Muslims and horrid Westerners actually means anything, or that "Muslim" and "Western" are opposite ends of a spectrum whose existence no one actually believes in... etc
