>>6036208>>6036234It's the Levitation Trilogy by Scott Westerfeld. It's about an alternate WW1 were genetics and mechanics are way more advanced. The Allied forces are called Darwinists and use genetic hybrids to fight wars. The make giant blimp-like beasts for their airships and things like krakens that are trained to attack when targets are light up with different colored lights. Axis forces are called Clankers and they have walking mechs.
The series is very good and the books have some really nice illustrations in them. You can see in the map posted above machines make up axis countries while organics make up allied countries. Some countries are sort of a mix between the two. I also have a book called the Manuel of Aeronautics that is full of illustrations and blueprints of things from the series.
