Hey /wg/

I want to customize my plain desktop a little. I only want a dark/plain/minimal gadget (or is it widget?) or two. I downloaded Rainmeter, but it seemed like it was more than I needed. Plus, I don't really know what I am doing with it anyway.

Any suggestions on what and how to accomplish this without completely ricing it up? Thanks for any help!
