In fact, people in general don't go to /r/ to share their wallpapers. They go to /wg/.
Not to mention that essentially every thread on /wg/ is a request. Your simple minded issue is that he actually worded his OP as a question, instead of disguising the thread and hiding the request like every other thread does.
There is a board for wallpapers.
Want a wallpaper?
Go there.
There is no reason to go to a slow, unreliable board filled with porn when there is already a board offering everything you need.
