It survives because of the ways the people keep it going. And 2) that any position which is based only upon opposition to something else is doomed. It is meaningless. The Japanese plotters in the period of government by assassination never had any ideas about what society or the government SHOULD be like, they just knew that they hated the way things currently were, and were willing to kill to destroy it. Someone else, surely, would come in and fix things afterwards. This was no damned good for Japan, no damned good for Asia, no damned good for the world.
I want this fellow to take responsibility for the society that he is part of, and I want him to start talking about what we SHOULD be doing, not how much he hates the government and hates the rich and hates the choices that other people make (and that he certainly doesn't have to himself), and how we should just kill and destroy and burn it all down
Rebellion is not inherently or generally bad, nor need it be only destructive. But this particular stuff is.
