but mechanically and structurally, the game is WAY less than what it once was. i'm not going to list all the reasons why, but if you download a vanilla private server and play it for 10 minutes, you will notice an unfathomable amount of difference in just about every category. difficulty, community, visuals, convenience, etc.

cataclysm alone totally redesigned the entire world. also, there is a lot more going on graphically, under the hood than you realize.
