My current "wallpapers" directory has over 3200 image files in it, semi-organized plus random/raw download folder that needs to be sorted. It is a sub-folder in .\images\ which has a total of ~12,000 image files, kept and used for various projects (including a meme/reaction folder just for 4chan).
I have several other .\images\ folders on other HDDs, both stacked in storage and on other systems. Some sections are reasonably organized and named, other sections completely random & awaiting attention. Some Day.
I use them all for clip art, source material for wallpapers & other graphics projects, reference photos for various art. And, just general joy and inspiration. I study them and collections from specific artists/photographers to improve my own style, both in graphics and photography.
Sometimes I just browse them to daydream and speculate as to what the artist was thinking or attempting on certain pieces. I've even composed fiction, poetry and short stories inspired by elements and pieces. I've used perspectives and other creative elements to help create and arrange photo shoots.
Fuck TV. Got no time for it. I barely watch movies anymore, too. Maybe three or four this year? But, half a dozen to ~15 hours a week collecting and studying art/photography. A 30" 2560x1600 10-bit monitor makes it as addictive as crack.
