I'm modifying the yukisuki startpage atm.
Does not look like I have done much, but most of the time I spent on the project, i tried to migrate the page styling from the js to an actual stylesheet.
Also what the fuck is this?

I'm really new to javascript, but i'm pretty sure that this bit of code initializes a variable and assigns a value to it, to then make a conditional statement, that tests for the existence of this same value. what?

In the case jQuery would not find an element with the id="searchinput", the var searchinput would be undefined. Then if(searchinput) returns "undefined" but if(!!searchinput) returns false. It a double negation that turns to true again if the element exists just as if(searchinput)... though if(searchinput) with searchinput beeing undefined also triggers false, i dont see the direct use of this here, but im just as bad with js as you i guess. Just made some tests, to see what happens. Thx!

I think I added that because I used normal javascript before changing it to jQuery. getElementById returns null if no element is found and trying to apply css to null throws an error.
jQuery returns an object even if nothing with that selector is found. I should test for the objects length, not cast it to boolean.
I'm not exactly sure what happens if .css() is used on an empty object, it doesn't throw an error at least. Depending on that the whole conditional there might be obsolete.

well there is a set of values, you can edit in the config.json file to put an image in the background. basically everything under "ext": { .
I however, since i already had an image, bigger than my screen resolution, and therefore didn't need most of the stuff you can change there, and planned to get rid of the whole config file anyway, just replaced this part of the style.css:

body{
overflow: hidden;
}

with this:

body{
overflow: hidden;
background-image: url("YOUR FILE URL HERE");
}

I'm modifying the Yukisuki startpage here, and I'm on Mozilla using the Stylish extension w/ Twily.

np, the 'content: "+" !important' part should place a plus sign inside it as well, but i don't know if that works on your end or not
if it didn't you could try to play with the variables (the 8px margin etc) if you want (cannot guarantee that it will work tho)

Here's a snapshot of what I am working on. It's not much but the box's are drag able, and there are many ways to customize the page. Making a WebM of all the commands in use exceeds image limit so I can't include it.

well, the easiest way would be to number your files,
let javascript generate a random number of the corresponding size,
and then insert the randomnumber in the right place of the background-image file url

go to "about:config" in firefox. Change the prefrence page "browser.newtab.url" from "about:newtab" to whatever directory you have for your custom startpage.

Thanks for responding. The code sadly didn't work.. But I also tried it with an important class like .container and it didn't hide that one either. I placed the code between the <head></head> file and changed the class. Is there something I could've done wrong?

Had to make a modification to add a 5th grouping, and I also had to make a new class in the CSS to allow for more room for all my tvmuse.com links:

Here comes the fun. I tried merging this with Bootstrap for mobile compatibility (so I can use the homepage on my phone) but that turned out to be a rather large pain in the ass...so I scrapped that (for now, I may revisit the idea in the future)

Same goes for when I tried to switch to a "display: flex;" "flex-flow: column" system to have a vertical list, where the list of sites pops out on the right side. I did accomplish it, but it just got hidden on the screen with Bootstrap when I shrunk the browser window to mobile device window size.

Also, I tried having the wallpaper slideshow use my site directory and load images, but I got a slow script error in Waterfox and had to stop the script and comment out all the wallpaper code.

Other than that, I'm loving this new homepage thing. Can't believe it's taken me this long to figure out this was possible.

i used http://openweathermap.org/api with jquery to get the weather information i want, and then insert it into the html. i could put the parts of the code, that provide this functionality, up somewhere, but i haven't done proper comments yet, and it is a wip.

Open the file "config.json" and look for "heading_font_size" and "link_font_size". change the like you want.

And with the firefox css: I can't help you without the code. But you must search for something like "tab" and "fontsize" in the css.

In the code you posted, there's something like "url("img/bg12.jpg");" which i suppose is the path for the image you're using in the background? If yes, how do i find a path like that for the image i want to use?

"img/bg12.jpg" is my path.
Just copy a picture into the "img" folder, which is located in the yukisuki folder. copy then the name of the picture and paste it in the css.

changed the autocomplete style and added a background. you can remove it if you want, the default is somewhere near black its actually >>6259728 this persons background color

Started working on a new homepage that utilizes widgets built on react.

So far:

1. Widgets can be realtime.
2. Widgets can be dragged
3. Widgets can save settings (including position dragged)

Probably going to need a better explanation of what you mean.

As it is right now, its buttery smooth, its just recording gif looks jagged, idk why, but basically you can align pixel perfect atm.

1. The Icons are not good and don't follow a common theme.

3. Your background per se is fine, but it clearly disturbs you Icon-bookmarks. Change the size of Spider Jerusalem.

4. The Icons are surrounded by a glassbox, but your firefox theme is simple dark grey (no glass effect).

Ok, it took me like.. about 5 hours to hack firefox and the new tab.xul (and make it my own thing with an iframe that points to an actual simple-to-edit php) but I finally made it. I uninstalled FVD.

I'm trying to get a very simply effect, but I must be fucking retard because I spended hours and I get nothing (at least by myself, downloaded a few scripts but it is only half effect).

When you hover a div, other 4 divs will appear.

I tried 4 hidden and giving visibility, with animations in CSS, moving, I got nothing.

How will you do it?

The perfect will be, hover the div, a little animation from that div at the same time they fade in to the corners( for example, position is variable).
