Tips:
>Pick one: short cuts or taskbar. If you pick shortcuts use custom skins for short cuts so they all match. Then get rid of the taskbar. (hide it in settings or completely remove it visually with tbarmagic or something) After that group them together better.
If you chose task bar make all the icons match in style. Remove excess icons you do not use on a regular basis.
Basically: trim down and make things match.
