>>6317010You're not getting it. Inventing things isn't science, it's engineering. They are different. Using the scientific method in your research is science. Publishing where the work gets peer reviewed is science. Using Patents and Trade Secrets to slow the spread of any knowledge you do produce is actually going exactly 180 degrees against being a scientist. The stuff Edison did is almost none of it Science at all, good or bad. Some people here are using bone head stupid definitions of Science, like saying Edison helped a lot of people. Winston Churchill helped a lot of people, but beating Hitler doesn't make him a Scientist. Carl Sagan did a nice TV show called Cosmos, but he was a scientist because he published peer reviewed papers in journals many of you have never heard of, worked at JPL on Mars probes, etc..
