>>6379316Linux is generally best for those who like hunting/problem solving. Even the more tame distros have this aspect for the customization. If you're not prepared for that, you're going to have some trouble.
If you're not looking to do a good bit of research, or don't want to customize heavily, linux may not be the best option for ya. I spent a good few years off and on with linux, and I can say from experience, it's not a friendly environment. Even ubuntu/mint/debian distros have their bugs, and you WILL spend a night metaphorically or literally chain smoking while you google fixes for something just to get it to hit the terminal/login screen again. My laptop and non-work PCs are all linux. And I can tell you on each one of them, I've had to use another system/live environment to find a solution when it crashed to a recovery shell.
Just know what you're getting into. Make sure your first priority is understanding the shell. You'll end up in it one day and you'll need to know, or be willing to find out, how to get around to a solution.
