For all the organization you would need a Window Manager such as "i3" or "awesome". But thats only on Linux distros
If you dont depend too much on windows I would say install Ubuntu/Debian and learn some Unix basics (Start using VirtualBox)
Maybe some day you will be ready to install Arch or similars and configure your own desktop (I thought it was imposible 1 year ago, but did it)
And I tell you this. You will get mad when unix, you will hate it, you will damn the day you decided to swap, but in the end you will love it.
