I don't really dislike these cars, just the way they're shot... they always seem to be smack dap center of the shot and visually unappealing to me.

I get that it's the focal point, but I guess I tend to lean more towards other things happening that make the car look cool... like maybe parked on a high cliff overlooking some great landscape or with a busy cityscape

This thread is amazing. It's a shame what has happened to current Japanese cars (and cars in general). There are outliers, of course, that are still attractive. But, nothing quite like the cars here. The fact I'm able to look at some of these and say "wow, that's an ACURA" is saddening. Cars were meant for a greater purpose than just transportation once upon a time.
