Half the people on my dorm floor would drop acid &/or mushrooms every Friday night and we'd go be freaky for films like Wizards, Rocky Horror, Dark Star, Quadrophenia, The Lathe of Heaven, Zardoz, Planet of the Apes (original), The Song Remains the Same. And The Warriors.
Go damn, but we had a mess of a great time. Got lost in a snow storm walking back across campus from Dark Star at 2 AM in the morning. Nearly got frost bite, but the storm cleared out just as the Sun came up. It was fucking glorious. Clouds parted, stars came out with a foot of fresh snow down, about 20 degrees F. And the Sun just fucking exploded across the black sky and lit up every snowflake on the ground, in the trees, blowing around in the wind.
The Warriors was one of the first ones we saw in mid-September, so it was still a little bit like a hot summer night when we got out, head full of acid and a soul full of disturbed. Just fucking amazing night. We played moonlighter frisbee on the campus golf course while the frogs sang out the ancient stories of the Earth.
