I'm not saying you caused anything, but you were part of an ongoing trend of desktop threads being more for arguing about bullshit than desktops.
Mods got tired of the vast majority of /g/'s rule breaking coming from one shitty subreddit wannabe chain thread where nobody even shared their themes and banned them
Neither you nor anime was the cause. It was the reaction between people like you and people like the anime posters you hate, and it was going on since 2010 or so when desktop threads started going from one a week to two a day.
