I didn't like Jar Jar because he was funny, although I see how having him there would appeal to kids, and make it easier for older fans to take their kids/grand kids to see the movie and not have them make a fuss.
TL;DR:
Jar Jar was a necessary evil. If you're that mad about something so trivial, I can't imagine the fun you'd be at a party.
