>>7013530I have always imagined that the beliefs in dragons, sea serpents and shit like this came from ancient (thousands of years ago) people seeing big lizards/fossils of dinosaurs, as well as pre-historic sea animals and letting their superstitious minds run wild for lack of knowing any better.
I bet that if the Portuguese came into contact with a deep sea creature in the 1200s/1300s they'd come to the conclusion that giant monster serpent creature things existed.
