The only tell tale way to determine if it is in fact a Z is if it had a 4-blade prop instead of a 2 blade prop, which in that picture you cannot tell. The USN archive calls it an AH-1W, probably because it is an AH-1W not a Z. Archive # for this other photo of the same aircraft is
