OP is great tower of babel, russian rapper album is an edited version of the little tower of babel. probably reminded you of it because they were both originally painted by the same artist https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tower_of_Babel_(Bruegel)

Yeah, when I saw this I was like "Hey, that's a neat idea. I should do something like that..." then remembered that I have 2400 wallpapers on a 3-minute rotation, and was like fuck that so I just turned all my icons into cp.

I'm pretty sure what OP is saying is that he took the section of the image that sits behind a file, and took that section of image and used it as the file's thumbnail image. As a result the files blend seamlessly with the background making them appear invisible and giving the desktop a clean look. I assume the files have blank names and OP just remembers where they are

I have personally done this in the past on different operating systems but when I tried it on Windows 10 with both the invisible icon and the blank name I it seemed to get lost in the ether and I could no longer click on it from the desktop and a hard time finding it from the file browser as well.
