Alright this is obviously my preference but take them if you want.

First thing I would remove is the lights and boxes blocking the window. I like natural light and I think those lights are overplayed (and in literally every single dorm I have ever set my foot in).

Secondly, clean up your room. Your room is pretty bare so any piece of trash or clutter just makes it a focal point your eyes want to go towards.

I don't really like how your setup reaches into your closet(?). Try reorganizing it so it doesn't look like it's trying to find space where it shouldn't be.

Lastly, get some decorations! Your room looks pretty bare as I said and to make it look more homely and comfy get some stuff on your walls and that awesome shelf space you got! Frame some art or posters on those walls and put some books (or figurines if you're into that sort of stuff) on those babies! Honestly I would kill to have a room that looks like yours! Make sure you make it look sexy!

dont be a slob but dont be a neatfreak either your place shouldn't look like an office cubicle
a couple bottles here and there is fine and a messy bed is pretty /comf/ too but don't be a slob either vacuum that shit

Would it be possible to drill a hole in the wall and run the hdmi and usb cables thru with the computer in the other room?

Ditch the couch and get a comfortable single chair and a small table, maybe a liquor cabinet and a bookshelf.
