it's only good for tiling terminals, literally everything else needs to be either floating or fullscreened, and that's when the restrictive and inflexible nature of tiling wms started to piss me off.
it can be circumvented with rules, but then you end up with a gimped version of a normal DE, with poor or nonexistant integration and lacking lots of convenient things, e.g. gnome's "activities", kde's "Present Windows" and desktop grid, or windows' win-tab overview to handle windows and workspaces in a nice visualized way.
