Was not easy. If you have the need to reach out, dont. You did this for a reason, and stick to your guns. Maybe after a year or so, you both might connect but it wont be the same. One of you will be bitter and bring up the past.

Bro I feel you, having these kind of thoughts about my gf of 2 years. Mental illness has destroyed her, and now shes just horrible to me half the time. I don't know what the hardest part is; knowing that I am the only thing keeping her from killing herself, or seeing glimpses of who she used to be every now and then just for it to be thrown away when she tells me she hates me so much for trying to help her

a month ago i quit my job on the spot for some frivolous reason. two weeks later i broke up with my live-in girlfriend of two years who i love with all my heart. a week ago i moved from a city of nearly 3 million to a small mountain town of 2500, about 2.5 hours away.

i go back to visit and we get into such a bad argument that i break down and got committed to a ward for three days. out now and medicated for the first time. if youre not getting help and you need help, get some help. ive needed it all my life.

My gf of 3~4 years left me 15 months ago. for months afterwards i felt blinding, numbing pain. i lived day to day. I moved to a new state almost immediately and started my life again. the first 6 months were very painful, but the good thing is you start appreciating the small, beautiful moments in life. you start to appreciate an afternoon where you just feel "alright" as a very good day. healing feels good. currently in a bout of depression over my ex, not gonna lie, im not even close to over her, but you dont have to be to just feel alright. the waves of sadness and grief get briefer and easier as time goes on. Feel the pain, allow it to change you and allow yourself to grow from it. Best of luck mate, You'll be a better you by the time this is all passed.
