>>7233106I hate when people talk like him. You don't need those bullshit fancy words, makes you sound like a new age hippie.
He is nicely saying
Everything you feel really is a choice and you can in fact choose happiness with some mental effort and dedicated change in lifestyle and thinking patterns.
You see things as bad now, but you need to break free of those negative thought loops and all your preconceived notions. Pretty much reset what triggers specific feelings.
Psychedelics can help this, but I do not seriously suggest that avenue unless it interests you. I only vaguely mention bc some are desperate for something to help, and it helped me tremendously, but it is a very case by case basis and must be done in the right way.
They call it transcendence, only because at least for me I literally feel like a completely different person. I look at my past self and how I behaved and acted and wonder what the actual fuck I was doing.
I became calmer and began understanding people instead of getting angry at them or getting my feelings hurt by them. I learned to accept that life is entirely irrational and all you can do is make the best of it in the present moment and enjoy it. I learned to love everything even when it sucks.
And that is transcendence/enlightenment without the bullshit my friend.
P.s. Maybe you'd benefit from marijuana rather than alcohol. It is entirely different and very physically and mentally useful when used in smaller amounts, or daily at a low to moderate level imo.
I'm bipolar. I can hold a job when I smoke daily. I have almost no manic symptoms and reduced mood swings and depressive symptoms. I was never able to hold a job longer than a few week when on mood stabilizers.
The most important aspect of using marijuana for mental issues is having an easy way to quickly change your perspective and see things in a different light.
Sorry for huge fucking wall of text. I searched for years and these are the answers I found.
