I like to imagine it’s Van Gogh, just this emotionally stunted guy that everyone dogged on and repeatedly told he sucked and wasn’t going to amount to anything just standing there, trudging out into the night, indignant and full of anxiety and doubt, looking up at the night’s sky and seeing the magnificence and awe-inspiring beauty before him, then looking back down at the simple, little paints he has and thinking of his own, oft-criticized ability and thinking: “How am I ever going to paint that?”
Then he just begins, and makes one of the most famous paintings of all time.
