This city, Brooklyn included, continues to be less livable every year. The subway is less reliable every year, and housing costs are leaving wages behind. It's not a horrible place to live. In fact at times it's great, and I have access here to things that most other people do not as far as the arts and entertainment are concerned. However, one can experience that in the course of a year or two or while living here during their education. This place is slowly revealing itself to me as a place that is untenable to live permanently. You have to be zoned in a very affluent area to have a decent and safe public school to send your children to, for example. This would be a perfect place to live if money was no object though.
