mouse mats with pictures on them are tacky. i got one of those ones that you could get for 1 penny a few years ago and i had a picture printed on it and it just looked pretty tasteless. i have a black mouse mat now, looks much better.

At that size, your best size would be somewhere in the 3500x7000px range, if they're using 300dpi print resolution. That should help you out in your search.
