Something about the shading is off to me for some reason. Like the fact that the left dune's shadow isn't completely centered at the tip. But I'm not a graphic designer or artist so I don't know shit

Dunes are *mostly* uniform in slope, only differing in height. The right one looks correct, the left one looks closer to a mountain. The stars and sky could use some polish.

I actually like the shading, but I too am no graphics designer

It's actually a decent start.

As to what could be improved, the moon cutout is a bit off and the purple flare in the centre is a little invasive.

Looks allright to me, I like the gradients.
One criticism though: the edges of the moon and the dunes are really pixelated.
I think they should be softer.

The Moon is the primary source of light and the shadows of the dunes don't make sense in correlation to the moon, sorry I don't have a computer atm to point it out better. I like it overall

I would make the hight of the dune on the left a little lower and add some sand in the background, otherwise they look like misshapen pyramids

I took some suggestions, my anti aliasing is still suffering but I tried to make edges crispier. I also made the moon a little more cartoony to make the style and made the sky darker to make more of a contrast from the middle of the dunes and the skyline.
