>>7357209Griffith is a pathetic weasel.
Just from a plainly utilitarian perspective he fucked up hard. Any other perspective also immediately shows his actions as grossly immoral at best.
He's a scumbag who, through callous selfishness, decided to subject the world to more suffering than anyone could have been conceived of before. And the only reason he did it is because he was too fucking weak to bare anyone being on equal grounds to himself. Even though he's the one who stated that his friends would have to be equal to him.
He was so fucked over about Guts not blindly following him anymore that he got himself into an inescapable situation (fucking the king's daughter and getting caught), where all his comrades got fucked over just as hard in the process.
He then did the exact same shit again, even after his comrades came back and risked everything to save him, because he couldn't stand the fact that the all mighty and beloved Griffith had now become unseemly (despite he himself being 100% responsible for what happened to himself).
Griffith is the personification of weakness, immaturity and the seeking of external validation above all else. Guts had nothing, but himself and through that he became strong. Griffith had everything on a silver platter, but he couldn't handle the thought of anyone not being beneath him, so he sacrificed the world in return for becoming a god.
What good did it do though? He has nothing now. None of his past comrades have any respect for him and he brutally fucked over the only friend he ever had.
His new world is a catastrophe, with otherworldly entities having free reign on the humans outside of his eternal city. And even the ones inside are only there because they'd die anywhere else.
He used to be a giant bonfire, around which all other smaller fires could gather for strength.
Now he's an all consuming flame, engulfing all in his path for simple self-gratification.
It's why Rickert rejected him as hard as he did.
