Opinion is to play whatever you think you'd enjoy more, the alliance atmosphere of Stormwind and company of humans, elves, gnomes dwarves; or rather the grungy style of Orgrimmar and orcs/ud.
I suspect a lot of people will go Horde for PvP, and Allaince for PvE, if you're on a pvp server horde will likely have a lot more serious pvpers and ally may be smaller fraction. Opposite for PVE servers. Mainly because Orc has stun resist and Undead have remove fear, very desirable traits. Ally doesn't have much apart from, human + swords which is where a lot of warriors and rogues can top dps in raids, making for better PVE.
Cons on both sides, some ally players are really young, some horde players are crazy tryhards who rage, but either way I think you'll have fun. Personally going horde because I've just always played horde.
