Both concepts are carefully designed so that 'believers' will automatically and vociferously defend something that they cannot prove the existence of, because if they instead wake up and realise what a sham both concepts actually are, then it leaves them feeling utterly stupid and deflated for having believed in such an obvious lie so readily.
