Guerrilla was really strong back in those days, especially in mid 70's when Montoneros (a left wing peronist militia) and ERP (marxist guerilla) unified their forces to fight against the militar fascist dictators.
Anyways, it didnt end well for the guerilla. The Argentinan army fought them comitting crimes against humanity and any other kind of horrible crime that you can imagine (here's an example

Oh, and they were under the proteccion of USA so no one gave a shit, its funny (in a very tragic way) to see how most of the violent and antidemocratic goverments of latinamerica are always under the proteccion of USA, and its still happening nowadays, the most recent case is Bolivia.
