Its a story from the Bible, to the best of my knowledge of the Old Testament it is when Jacob had asked an angel representing God to bestow him with powers, the angel refuses and Jacob begins to wrestle the angle for it. For this ballsy move, God comes down from heaven and dubs Jacob 'Israel'; a name when translated means 'Wrestles with God'.
