>>7527655It's worth noting that many more people than gamers define themselves only by consumption. the stereotype of the brainless sheep consoomer who just watches tv and has no hobbies of any intellectual force exists for a reason and existed before gaming was popular. it just happens that gaming, for our generation and the generation to come, will be the center of that consumptive vice - by the sheer revenue produced alone
of course, gaming objectively is more meritorious than watching tv - but even so it is good to move past it and do things which are productive in an independent sense. to be honest, I wish I'd learned this when I was younger. the things I love to do now I could be so much better at if only I hadn't let myself spend my teens wasting away in front of a screen
