If you have a small budget, some warm fairy lights will go along way to getting your place cozy. Bonus points for the dimmable ones.
If color schemes are overwhelming and you just want that nostalgic christmas vibe, stick with predominantly red decorations and add some gold and white accents.
I just made some 'garland' out of red streamers and old gold ribbon I had laying around.
There's also more unnoticed things that can make a huge difference. I swapped out a green pillow I had on my couch for a white one and it switched the room quickly.
If you're feeling fancy, grab a poinsettia, it'll remind you of grandparents lol.
