Psychologically speaking, we're reminded of their meaning every time we look at them - whether we want to or not. It is indeed better to have towers venerating symbols of ancestry, love, self-improvement, and faith than structures idolizing materialism, subservience, and a failed milieu. Especially considering that most of these buildings are empty because people work from home now. And, don't get me started on the lazy glass-and-steel walmart-tier architecture used, it's fucking chink shit.
Lot's of European cities are alright though, but the US has failed in establishing beauty and meaning.
