He's already established he doesn't want to be King, then the series ends with him accepting the offer of coronation. An offer that makes no sense, for a character that they (not just D&D, but also GRRM) didn't seem to know what to do with.
GRRM could very well die before finishing The Winds of Winter (forget about dreaming of Spring). His [not] a blog posts seem to imply he is, at best, halfway done writing it. He just accepted a job with Warner/HBO to produce at least 5 GOT spin-offs, so he may not have anytime to write. What also worries me is that when asked about whether or not the books would conclude the same way (even if following the general contours) as GOT, he has said "Yes and no, no and yes."
