Some film cameras can be really easy to use, but I'd also say it's better to at least learn the fundamentals of exposition and framing with a digital camera
But then, many people started out with nothing but a basic film camera, so why not, if you're not too worried about the costs of processing the film (which you can do yourself for normally cheaper than in shops)
If your phone has a camera on it, and it's not too old, it's honestly not a bad way to start shooting, you might even have a manual mode to practice with
