Just go onto one of the sites that has 3d scans of statues, slap a really diffuse black material on it, half-ass model something to go with it (or if you're really lazy duplicate part of the mesh), and slap a gold material on it.
This is the type of shit that you learn to do as a beginner. Yet somehow he's made a name for it, and chumps eat it up.
When at best it's relying entirely on work that old artists have done before. Dude probably couldn't model his way out of a cardboard box.
Sounds like jealousy to the uninitiated, but take an hour to learn any 3d program and you'll understand just how piss simple these are to make.
