the nazis never developed nuclear weapons, since physicists don't like burning books and the top scientists defected.
The funny thing was before 1933 Germany was the world centre of quantum research. It would have made perfect sense for the first a-bomb to be built there. The reason so many decided to help America build the bomb was they thought it was better than Hitler having it.
