>>7860144to me, this type of stuff is all post-y2k. coming off the age of unbridled optimism, and not yet in the 2003 recession, which at the time was considered the worst economic event in modern history. they didnt know how bad it would get, but they were anxious to keep their prosperity and peace in the future so they tried to manifest it with designing the future in their present-time. computers and the digital world were about to have a second explosion with the internet 2.0 and the digital world made any design possible. airy, light, rounded, wacky, forms pushed to the extreme for the sake of it, as if they were daring factories to find a way to make it pragmatic to produce.
